From June 26th to 28th, we explored EU Youth Goal #9: Space and Participation for All at the #EUYOUTH4EUGOALS workshop in Rome, Italy.
A Gathering of Young Visionaries
Eighteen dynamic young leaders from six partner countries came together, sparking vibrant discussions and creative activities. From the moment we broke the ice, the energy was palpable. These young leaders were ready to critique, dream big, and design actionable plans to enhance youth involvement in their communities.
The Workshop Experience
The workshop was structured around three key phases:
- Criticism: We examined the current landscape of youth participation, identifying barriers and successes.
- Fantasy: We envisioned an ideal future where youth participation is fundamental to community decision-making.
- Realization: We created a Youth Toolkit, a practical guide empowering young people to foster inclusive participation.
Creating the Youth Toolkit
Our journey culminated in the Youth Toolkit, a comprehensive resource with strategies, best practices, and tools for young leaders to break down barriers and create new spaces for participation.
Moving Forward
We left Rome with new knowledge, tools, and a renewed sense of purpose. The #EUYOUTH4EUGOALS project has equipped us to make tangible steps towards inclusive youth participation. Together, we are making strides toward a future where every young person has the space and opportunity to shape their world.
