“Social A.C.T. – Active Cycling Team” had the vocation to promote cycling and motivate to practice physical activity as an integral part of everyday life.

SHORT DESCRIPTION

The project promoted cycling as beneficial to health and focused on the importance of sports volunteering. Project participants trained to become volunteer cycling guides and acquire the skills needed to organize local cycling activities. The project promoted and raised awareness about the benefits of cycling as a physical activity for social inclusion.

Social A.C.T. funded by Erasmus+ and is a collaboration between 5 partners:

  • Association Active Youth (Lithuania)
  • AJITER (Portugal)
  • ENVERÇEVKO (Turkey)
  • Champions Factory (Bulgaria)

Solidarity Tracks (Greece).

PROJECT MAIN ACTIVITIES
    • Prepared and publicized research on cycling habits and challenges in local communities
    • Organized a training course in Turkey to train the cycling group guides where they will develop skills in the field of sports to support bicycle activities in their communities
    • Creation of an educational guide that provided relevant guidance on setting up local group cycling initiatives
    • Organized local group cycling activities
