Youth Employment Promotion

Youth Employment Promotion in the cross-border region by enhancing their professional work skills.

Nowadays South-East part of Lithuania and North-East part of Poland both meet such key territorial challenges like high unemployment and lack of relevant professional skills among young age people. In 2018 the youth unemployment rate in Podlaskie Vaivodeship exceeded 14,55 %, throughout Poland – 20 %. In Lithuania amounted to almost 11%, Central and Western Lithuania region – 13,3%. Project activities aimed at intensifying intercultural dialogue and increasing cooperation in order to develop best practices and solutions in the frame of which innovative activities can be implemented in purpose to stimulate the development of young age people professional skills corresponding labour market needs and as a consequence to reduce the youth unemployment in the cross-border region. The project is implemented in a cross-border partnership between Šalčininkai District Municipality Administration, Association Active Youth and Sokolka District Municipality Administration on the Polish side. Duration of the project – 18 months. During the project is planned to acquire equipment and furniture needed to establish an international youth centre in Vilkiškės Manor as well as equipment for three selected schools in Podlaskie Voivodeship. It is also planned to implement 8 joint training and local employment initiatives and 16 separate training and local employment initiatives. 

Partners of the projects: Šalčininkai District Municipality Administration (lead partner), Sokolka District Municipality Administration (beneficiary 3) and Association Active Youth (beneficiary 2). Our tasks: conducting trainings for 8-12 grade young people from border towns. 120 participants from the Lithuania side. Age 15-19 years old. The start of activities is planned for 2021 the spring (April-May). All training should be implemented by 2022 Spring.
