Young (Ex-)offenders’ Support is a strategic partnership project aimed at fostering the employability of young ex-offenders by providing employers, youth/social workers & career specialists with tools to teach, guide & employ this vulnerable group.

SHORT DESCRIPTION

The project is created in a way to leave a long-standing positive effect on all of its target groups: the previously mentioned participants, partners, and the general public. YES will create, launch and maintain a thorough support system that will help young (ex)-offenders boost their employability opportunities and thus lower the chances of recidivism, which ultimately harms the released youngsters and society at large too.

PROJECT MAIN ACTIVITIES
  • Prepare and publicize “YES to Employment: methodology to boost employability of (ex-)offenders inside the prison & once released”
  • Prepare and publicize “YES to Hiring an (Ex-)offender: a handbook for employers”
  • Establish and launch online support for ex-convicts, specialists, and employers regarding employment
  • Establish an ex-offender-friendly network (NET) consisting of employers, ex-offenders & specialists
  • Create short documentaries with success stories about young ex-offenders and their employers
  • Organise events for specialists and organizations that are working with ex-offenders integration as well as for the general public

YES is funded by Erasmus+ and is a collaboration between 4 partners: Association Active Youth (Lithuania), Rubikon Centrum (Czech Republic), Slawek Foundation (Poland), and Wayback (Norway).

WAYS TO GET INVOLVED

For companies that employ ex-convicts:

  • Join the NET and benefit from networking & international social responsibility recognition
  • Be featured in one of our short documentaries that will appear on major social media channel
  • Free access to education tools tailored for companies working with ex-offenders
  • Take part in our events 

For young ex-offenders:

  • Check the resources and materials in the online support (to be set up in 2021)
  • Join the NET and benefit from networking with companies that employ ex-offenders
  • Take part in our events

For employment & career specialists, youth workers, officers:

  • Apply to take part in the implementation of a pilot program for (ex-)offenders created to boost their employability opportunities
  • Access and use “YES to Employment: methodology to boost employability of (ex-)offenders inside the prison & once released” (to be prepared in 2021)
  • Take part in our events
ONLINE PLATFORM

The platform invites people to talk about the employment and career opportunities of prisoners in Lithuania.
