AIM
This project aims to address the low participation of women in AI sciences and support the implementation of SDG goals. It will develop an innovative approach that combines training with educational play to:
- Help young women explore their entrepreneurship skills and capabilities in AI, bridging the gap of inclusion and equality.
- Encourage innovation and sustainability of the SDG goals through a fun, engaging, and positive game environment.
SHORT DESCRIPTION
We will enhance women’s participation in AI by providing introductory, inclusive educational materials. Our goal is to motivate women to pursue careers, entrepreneurship, and skill development in AI. Through training, we aim to educate about the application of AI to SDGs, thus aiding the UN in achieving them. This will be accomplished with a knowledge portal featuring targeted lesson plans and a Minecraft game that tests participants’ AI knowledge while focusing on SDG goals. Given that AI could help achieve 79% of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and considering the historically low participation of women in STEM and tech fields, this project addresses a crucial need. Only 22% of employees using AI are women, indicating a significant skills gap for the AI-driven future. Recruitment alone is insufficient; society must also provide access to opportunities.
MAIN ACTIVITIES
- Development of a Knowledge Portal with AI basic skills and competencies for custom training of young women in ICT.
- Creation of a Minecraft game specializing as a skills retention challenge on AI and SDG goals.
- Organization of three physical meetings for the consortium to collaborate at key project implementation stages.
- Conducting internal and external piloting of the deliverables.
- Hosting a European Seminar.
