It is hard to deny that people still do not know how to develop or determine their community’s needs. This subject is essential to provide the foundation a city builds on to improve its citizens’ lives since it creates solid and diverse communities that can attract and keep talent, start and grow businesses, and overcome issues that arise. The “We are all connected“ project tackled these and other issues.
“We are all connected” is the project aimed to form leadership potential in the common areas and promote skills in developing intercultural dialogue and social responsibility as the fundamental qualities of 21-century leaders and active interaction with the outside world for the sustainable development of communities.
Active Youth implemented the project during the Erasmus+ youth exchange in Kaunas. Workshops were organized to help people find ways how to solve problems such as prescribing a plan and carrying out a practical project correctly, connecting 17 Sustainable Development Goals and assisting their communities, and other issues regarding the development of communities. We created sustainable businesses, discussed our privileges, how we can become even more active citizens in our local communities, and learned about each other’s cultures and differences.
The project proved that young people are not afraid to speak their minds, discuss sensitive topics, and engage in the creation of value for our future societies. They are not afraid to express an honest opinion about global environmental issues, reduction of poverty, issues of equality, or other matters. Therefore, the greatest goal of young people remains to create an intercultural and sustainable future.
