Three countries.
Three walls.
One message.
Designed in collaboration with Lithuanian street artist Rolandas Ivanauskas, this mural is a statement of solidarity and hope. Rolandas discovered his passion for art more than 18 years ago after seeing the graffiti-covered streets of New York on television. Since then, his work has been driven by the desire to speak out on important social issues.
“I believe that anyone passing by my murals will feel supportive, uplifting thoughts about Ukraine. Graffiti is the perfect medium to talk about war because its very essence is to draw attention to problems and to protest publicly.” says the artist.
This mural began not just as an idea, but as a shared creative process.
During the mural design workshop, participants came together to explore symbols, stories, and emotions connected to the realities we often struggle to put into words. Through sketches, discussions, and collaboration, the first visual elements of the mural were born – shaped by diverse perspectives and collective reflection.
For the AY Institute team, it was a truly meaningful experience to co-create alongside participants and artist Rolandas. This process became a space for dialogue, connection, and shared understanding.
Together, we are proud to contribute to an initiative that will come to life across three countries, transforming public spaces into reflections of unity, resilience, and human stories that deserve to be seen and heard.
