Between August 20 and 29 was developed Active Citizesnhip project, 2018-1-RO01-KA105-048936, funded by the Erasmus+ programme coordinated by Asociatia Be You together with Asociacija Aktyvus Jaunimas Lithuania, European Youth Centre Breclav Czech Republic,Cool Youth Macedonia, General Workers Union Malta, Associação Academia Cidadã Portugal and Youthfully Yours SR Slovakia.

The Training Course tackled the theme of active citizenship, youth participation to democratic life, youth involvement in decision making process and youth motivation to become active and responsible citizens. Also, the project aimed to raise participants’ awareness for the importance of their active participation at local, national, European and global levels through non-formal education methods. The Training Course developed the critical sense of its participants by showing them the various ways of being active in their societies. The various facets of political and social participation were presented and, thereby, the participants were able to acknowledge that to be a active citizen is not only to participate in the governmental and party reality.

Thereby, the 34 participants identified the causes of youth non-involvement in decision making process and poor participation, finding solution and methods to encourage and to increase the number of youth who participates to civic life and contribute to the democracy continuity and good functioning of society. The exchange of good practices, experience and knowledge generated the finding of real and easy applicable solutions.

The training course had activities like: practical workshops, debates, discussions and interactive presentations, teamwork, simulations, creation of advocacy campaigns and new project drafts for young people.

To do the dissemination participants will be involved in activities having a positive impact on young people and local community.
